We recently got to chat to Aaron Torrence about his Super Mario tattoo. He’s an aspiring clothing model and self confessed tattoo/piercing addict. Aaron has just been featured in this months edition of Nintendo World magazine. Why you may ask? Well he has what we think is the best Nintendo/Super Mario tattoo sleeve we have ever seen! Not very often do you get to experience a living canvas of Nintendo art such as Aarons, so we thought it was worth while asking him a few questions about himself and his love of all things Mario.
1.How old are you?
I am currently 20 years old.
2.Where are you from?
I live in a small but populated town called Paso Robles, CA.
3.What’s your first memory of gaming?
My first memory gaming was playing Super Mario Brothers on the Super Nintendo.
4.What was your first console/game?
My first console was my Super Nintendo when I was probably at the age of 5 years old.
5.What’s your favourite console?
I like the simplicity of Super Nintendo, and will always hold a special place in my heart.
6.What is your favourite Mario game?
I love all Mario games. All the Mario Karts/Party/Paper Mario/Galaxy, shoot even Mario tennis was fun. But one of my favourites would have to be Super Mario 64!
7.When did you first fall in love with the fat plumber?
When I was able to jump into pictures and play really fun and amazing levels, I was hooked.
8.What is it about Mario that you like over other characters?
He’s brave, courageous, he’s a lover, but also will fight to get what he wants. His laugh, his cry. It’s all what I live by.
9.When did you first start having work done on the Nintendo/Mario tattoo?
About one year ago. It’s about done. Just a couple minor details need touching up.
10.Why did u get it done?
Super Mario is one of my only memories as a child, so I wanted to keep the spirit alive and remember that forever.
11.Do you plan on adding anymore characters or game themes to your tattoo?
More coming. (SURPRISE!)
12.Do you have any other gaming tattoos or non gaming tattoos that you would like to share with us?
I have a total of 11 tattoos. But only having my Super Mario piece being the only game related. I plan on having most of my body canvas covered in ink.
13.What do you think of www.geekgamerz.com and its community concept?
I think you guys are great, video games will be around forever, and hopefully we can all still remember where it all started an appreciate the original games and consoles.
