Blizzard Entertainment has recently won a whopping 7 million dollars in a lengthy lawsuit again Ceiling Fan Software and their World of Warcraft bots.
Ceiling Fan Software, creators of popular World of Warcraft bots Pocket Gnome and Shadow Bot have now been ordered to pay the $7 million after nearly two years when Blizzard Entertainment first filed for the lawsuit back in December 2011.
“After more than two years of legal battles with Blizzard Entertainment to both pursue our right to operate and our customer’s right to play WoW as they choose, we did not prevail in the suit and have been ordered by the United States District Court in California to cease our operations,” a statement on the Ceiling Fan website read.
Blizzard Entertainment won a similar case back in 2010 against well known World of Warcraft not Glider. Ceiling Fan has cheekily requested an appeal to the bots users to help raise money to cover the remaining legal costs involved with the lawsuit.
