New Frostbite game engine coming to mobile platforms
The new Frostbite game engine ha been officially confirmed on the Frostbite website. DICE, the Frostbite developer has announced that the game engine will be called ‘Frostbite Go’ and claims that it will be available to ‘all major mobile platforms’.
Frostbite is the game engine that powers games such as Battlefield 3 and Need for Speed: The Run.
DICE reported last year that Frostbite 2 was originally designed to support next-generation games. Frostbite 3 is now set to power the next-generation, with Battlefield 4 to be the first title to use the latest engine. Dragon Age III: Inquisition and the next Mass Effect game will also be powered using Frostbite 3.
